Bought a modded XBOX
I picked up an XBOX that is modded. It has some sort of 360 Theme type front end and numerous emulators.
Is there a way to find out how this unit was modified? I ask because I would like to FTP into it and add some ROMS, theme and video files.
The easier for my kids to use the better.
It doesn't mater how it was modded....It could be T'sop or softmod, either way you can still FTP into the system using the Ip address etc
and add Games, roms etc.
Default username and password should be xbox
always a good idea to back up your eeprom
Thank you for the responses. I would like to update the theme (frontend?) to make it easier for the kiddos to navigate. I was also wanting to look into updating the emulators as I am believe that there are newer ones available for MAME, NES, SNES, SEGA, and others. In addition to that I want to load up some video files for the kids.
You mean..... you would like to change your Skin/s, on the Xbox.
Google Skin/s For Xbox and Ftp it to your skins folder.
Same thing goes for the emulators as well.
For the movies part , the same thing is done , but you should create a folder that says Movies and stick them in said folder.
Do you know how to FTP into your Xbox?

I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread, but, I have purchased an original Xbox from a market this morning and to my delight it has been modded. If your offering an explanation into how to FTP stuff to and from the Xbox, I'm all ears!!
In the mean time I will hunt around and see what I can find out.
Thanks in advance.
1.) Make sure your xbox is connected to your router etc.(Wired Of'course)

3.) Download FileZilla and install.
4.) Open fileZilla and in the Host you will put your Ip address that you had copied to paper earlier.
5.) For the username and password will be Xbox, so enter Xbox in each.
6.) The Port number will be 21, so enter 21.
7.) Now hit the Quick connect button.
Of'course your Xbox needs to be on to be able to FTP in to it.
Jax, Thank you for the information. I hope to attempt to FTP into XBOX soon.
i dusted off my xbox a few months ago and found it alot easier to play emulators off of a disc. also wanted to add that you need to use a cat 5 ethernet cable not just a regular one.
I use a regular Ethernet Plug and have no problems...
