New XBOX 360 CHIP Announced by Team Underdog?

NEWS: 21. January 2009
After a year of silence we would like to introduce to you the NME2.5! As there still was a big demand for our chips we felt like we had to set up another batch of chips. For several reasons we dropped Hitachi Suport this means NME 2.5 is compatible to all Samsung and all BenQ drives. No Lite-On support neither because it looks like there is no way to get into this bastard hardwarewise.

I have a BenQ 360 that is flashed with ixtreme firmware 1.5, but I don't want to keep reflashing as newer versions come out. Does this chip work with an xbox that has been flashed already? or does it need to have the original firmware?

I used to have the version 1.0 on my very first 360, and it has to have original firmware as it injects it's own code if it detects a backup disk inserted.

Also as of 21Mar09 the NME2.5 has been discontinued.

The BENQ also has a switch connected to make NME operate correctly.

Concerning the last newspost about our idea of NME2.5 we received a lot of emails from customers who didn't want to abandon the Hitachi Feature. So after a few discussions within our team we decided to discontinue the NME2.5 and continue sales of our flagship the NME2.0. The first lot has already been shipped to some resellers like Foundmy and Gocybershop. Europe and Asia will be covered by the lot of next week.
