Wode... The future in Wii modding
WODE is a new product for the wii, WODE stands for Wii Optical Drive Emulator.
WODE will include a Flatmod type mainboard that attaches (solderless) to the Wii drive cable similar to other available chips. It also comes with it's own vertical stand that harnesses a slave board with built-in LCD, USB, and SD slot. The SD card is used to house the powerful Linux-based WODE software.
WODE is compatible with WII DMS, D2B, D2A, D2C, D2C2, D3, D3-2 boards.
The OS is LINUX and allow to manage WIFi connection and many others features, like a Mini Computer.
To keep this simple
WODE is a solderless modchip that anyone can install (like the drivekey)
WODE will allow you to plug in a USB stick/hard drive into the Wii, and play your ISOs directly, without the need to insert a disc
WODE is an upgradable product, and will allow you to rip games to the harddrive with its first update.
An early video of the WODE in pieces (the end unit is a lot neater) -
Its kind of link a DS flash card for the Wii. You ger a list of all your games, and you just select the one you want to play
WODE team have posted two new YouTube videos. The first demonstrates the chip playing GameCube games from an NTFS formatted USB drive. The second playing "Metroid Prime Trilogy," a problematic title for all software based USB loaders.
What I do know is that you navigate through the iso's and what not with the little joysitck on the front.. What I want to know is would it be possible to mod something like wiiflow so that it can access the chip so we can have downloaded covers for our games and navigate through our iso's that way etc.

If your looking for price check the news article I submitted on it.
YES!, I read that a couple weeks ago and at the time it did not have the price.
Price is about $110.
Is it worth it...Hmmm.
The only extra is the usb for the GC games. The rest can be done without it.

But its update proof and has the least chance of bricking your Wii.
