Thinking about buying a WODE - few general questions

Sorry if these have been asked over a million times, just trying to make sure my i's are dotted and my t's are crossed =)

    Specs of my Wii -
    System Menu - 4.3U
    Disk Drive - D3-2
I'm assuming I have an NTSC-U. I live in Texas & bought my Wii in Walmart.

    Anyways....

    1. I do not plan on doing much with my Wii if I buy a WODE. Just play backups via a 120GB HDD & thats basically it. No ripping whatsoever. So the WODE is a good buy?

    2. Like stated above, I'll be using a 120GB HDD. I understand that games can be in .iso or that other format (its .wbsf or something?). Which one is better? If I keep games in .iso format to reduce hassle of converting to the other format, approx. how many games can I store on a 120GB?

    3. WodeFlow.. I'm new to terms like loader & such, but from my understanding, instead of using the LCD screen to select games, WodeFlow allows you to select games via the Wii itself (like any other regular game)? I'm new to Wii modding (only experience is with M3 card for original Nintendo DS years ago). I've seen videos of using WODE and the way to select games was via the LCD screen. But from my understanding, I can softmod my Wii with HBC, then install Wodeflow?

    4. My wii has the drive D3-2, so I understand I cannot play backups via discs. However, I was wondering, I've always wanted to use my Wii as a DVD player also. Is that possible with the drive I have? And if so, what softmod would I use? I've heard about DVDx but I do not know exactly what it is and if it even has anything to do with playing DVD movies.

    5. Final question... what is a reputable site to buy WODE from? I live in the U.S. and have narrowed my search to the following:

    Foundmy.com Console Solution - Wode JukeBox v2.0 + 5x bonuses - $89

Wode Jukebox Wii Modchip w/ Free Shipping (Free Wireless Sensor Bar + USB Cable + Triwing + Phillips Screwdriver) - Modchip Central Ltd - $88.95

Canadamods.ca - Official Distributor of AVRKey, Wode JukeBox, Wiikey Fusion, Wasabi DX, DriveKey,iEdge, M3i, SunKey, Wii-Clip, and more - Wode Jukebox 2.0 - Game Ripping Feature - Free Tools - $84.95

WODE Jukebox (Wii Optical Drive Emulator) - $88.95

I'm in no rush for it, just looking for a site that has a fair price (which all of them do) and comes with all of the equipment I need for installation (which all of them seem to do also).

Thank you for your time and sorry for all of the questions!

    Quite a list.

    1. Use a Wode its a good buy for that.
    2. There a several formats to choose from. NTFS is easier to add games to. WBFS is a format the reduces the size of the games, so is useful for that reason.
a 120GB drive would take about 60 games, some are small, 1GB some large 4GB.
    3. You can run games from the LCD panel, its easy to use a GC controller, saves getting off the sofa.
I f you Mod the Wii you can install wodeflow, and use like a usb loader.
    4. If you softmod you can install wimc to show videos/movies
    5. You could use the site sponsors, vancity mods, mod chip depot

Cool, thanks for the info. I think I'll stay with the NTSF HDD format and stick with .iso. I'll probably only have around 30 or 40 games on it anyway, I don't play it much.

For loading games, I understand I could use a wireless GC controller. However, I still do not understand what Wodeflow is. Is it a method of loading games w/o using the GC contrller and rather using the HBC channel? If so that's what I'm looking for.

For playing DVD movies/DVD backups (only movies since I can't play games (which is not needed since WODE does that anyway)), with the wimc you mentioned, can I play DVD movie discs or only play movies via my HDD? Also, would DVDx be useful in this situation?

Re-cap, there is no need to softmod with a Wode, it will play all games off a HDD, including DL games such as COD-BO. With a simple games list which has covers, either from the LCD or GC controller.

Wiiflow is a USB Loader which requires softmodding your Wii, and utilises a USB HDD separate from your Wode HDD.

Wodeflow is a version of Wiiflow that loooks at the Wode HDD, and uses the same front end. This was written by rwin, and I have made a channel of the app.

I have wiimc and can play retail DVD's. You do need to softmod to use this. DVDx is now outdated, HBC 1.0.8 removes it, but if you really want it you can reinstall it.

Spyman, I checked out the website and that's the lowest price I've seen for a Wode yet! I think I will buy from your site later on today when I get off work. Should I shoot you a PM when I order or should I just order like normal? Just letting you know now that I will buy one from there though.

When you order just leave a comment, for spyman. I'll package the item for you. Shipping to US right now is at the best as we've managed to make a deal with customs on our parcels, so no duties or delays with them, like previous years during this time.

Hey I have a 4.3 wii and I soft modded it with Mauifrogs Soft mod gudie but am interested in the WODE now.
Can I still install the wode even though my Wii is already modded? ?

Yes, that's what I did and it works fine. Although I was a lower version, it should work just as well.
