The reason I ask this, is because how the entertainment center is setup, the Wii can't be setup in its vertical stand, so it just lays flat.
So I wanted to know if you can still use the WODE, without the stand, or ribbon cable for the stand plugged in?
The base carries the LCD screen, toggle switch, USB connector and SD card slot, so its required.
You can lay the Wii along side it, but this makes it more susceptible to damage.
If you don't mind viewing the LCD on its side just lay the standard installation on its side.
Alright. Ya I was wondering what the point of the stand was besides having usb and sd on the front, and an LCD. I could probably move some shit out of the way and set it next to the TV.

I was doing the softmod way for the Wii, but it hasn't been going so well, so I just want to get the WODE now.
Well simply put the WODE has made things problem free (for me anyway) as theres no need for CIOS, 002 error fix, priiloader etc. and all my games just work and load without the need for any of that other useless crap associated with a softmod.
Ya see what's been happening to me, is i can maybe play the first level of Mario Galaxy 2, then it goes to black screen after! I'm for a fact gonna get the WODE, I just wish I could find them a little bit cheaper! As a college student with no job, it's hard to come by!
And you can browse the games from the WODE Channel correct? Because to me I just think it would be annoying always having to look at the LCD to choose a game.
And GameCube iso's work as well? Because the softmod don't have that, and I've been dying to play Mario Sunshine (it's been a while).
GC iso loading works fine and Super Mario Sunshine plays fine but make sure you have a GC memory card and controller first.
Favs is spot on, with an ummodded Wii it works with no issues.
The next stage is use a GC controller, makes viewing/loading easier.
The next is install HBC and DVDx, that enables you to use some great loaders. (not easy on 4.3, but easy enough on all other).
The final one is getting a a CIOS, but thats a full mod.
Personally I think a mod free Wii, kept updated, is a tried and tested solution.
Have you seen it anywhere cheaper then $89.95? That's the lowest I've spotted...
