Question WODEflow, black/white flicker on GameCube ISO's.

    Hello!
this is such a nice community, I've been looking around a lot, and I got a lot of questions answered, except this one:

I've got a WODE, along with my WII, and I'm using WODEflow to play my ISO's. The WII runs on a cheap 37 inch "TECO" screen (this may be the problem..?)

Now, I'm trying to run gamecube ISO's: Luigis Mansion, super mario sunshine and my homemade NES and SNES ISO's. But every time I load them, I get the sound perfect, but the video is black/white, and flickering on and off.

I saw that stomp_442 posted this thread http://www.wiihacks.com/software-bac...xed-maybe.html about what i think is the same problem, but it did not work for me, as I use wodeflow.

Does anyone have suggestions on what to do?

Also: a second question, I wonder how you run .wad on a WODE?

Reading the rules of the forum should have been the first thing you did.

    RULES

The second thing you should have done after reading the rules would have been posting an inrtroductory post. As indicated here
    1. New members are expected to create a new post in the Introductions Forum. A brief post will suffice to both introduce you to our community and to learn to create a post.
    Moving on.

Well we need to find out is what region are the games in question? And what region is your Wii?
If the games are out of region then there could be compatibility issues with the video output. That is my gut feeling by the way.

Another thing I want to know is you specifically mentioned WODEflow, does that mean the games in question work fine when launched via the WODE joystick and LCD? If yes then please post your issue at the offical WODEflow report pages. The guys have asked that all WODEflow type issues be directed to them.

    Will check back later.

I'll make myself an introduction post later

    My WII is 4.2E PAL.
Mario Sunshine & Luigis mansion is US and NES/SNES WIIUI is PAL (from this post btw. http://www.wiihacks.com/software-bac...xed-maybe.html )

I said wodeflow because I've practically never touched the joystick on the wode

I shall reply later once I have read your introductory post.

Thanks for making the introductory post mate. It is a whole heap more friendly that way.

I would really like you to try and load the games via the joystick. That way I will know if it is the game that is the problem or if it is the launcher. I have just tested Mario Sunshine US on my Wii&Wode 4.2E. No problems with the video at all. I tend to only load out of region game cube games via gecko and there I have not experienced what you have described. In WODEflow there are individual game options - these options allow you to set the video output (force it to play PAL) have you played around with those settings as yet? It might be worth your while to do so.

Please report back if you have success as it will help others who have the same problem as you do.

    Cheers for now.

Running out of region games is impossible on the 4.2e with the wode joystick, atleast I've never done it.
On the joystick I cant even load the game, stops at 2 reads and 8KB.
I've tried a lot of the wodeflow settings, setting it to pal50hz will get the same shit again: screen jumping in and out (its like the connection breaks) and colour in blackwhite and the screen rolls to the side. the wiimote stops working too.

do you think using gecko would make it work? or should it work on wodeflow?

You have to use Gecko to get the out of region GC games to work - those games that do not work via joystick are all out of region yes?

What cable are you using to your TV set? I have tested with three different kinds - scart, component and composite and Mario Sunshine works perfectly for me each and every time.

The SNES type games you will need to go read here for a great tutorial. I do not play them myself so can not help you there.

Yes they are, but aren't wodeflow able to run out of region GC games?

I use SCART, but I dont think the problem rests on the cable, its rather the TV. as I said, its a cheap TV with few settings.

I did this tutorial, which makes a PAL GC ISO, it did not work either.

Please install the latest Gecko OS and load your Mario Sunshine using that application. Basically I want to remove all the variables that we can. If the game load and plays fine then all is good and it is not your TV, but if the game does not load via Gecko then it is your TV. As I said I have tested that game and it plays fine when loaded via Gecko.

I can not answer one way or another for WODEflow it is a third party application, however I do know that a new WODEflow version is due for release any day now. Maybe out of region GameCube support will be included (if not already) in that update.

As you have worked out I do not use WODEflow as my loader of choice. I did assist in the beta testing of the loader but I prefer GX loader for my needs.

hmm... doesn't gecko need the ISO to be loaded by the wode before you start gecko? if it do it wont work, as my wode do not load outofregion games!

    but I'll try
