    Just bought a WODE...

jukebox as I have an urge to play GC backups and cannot be bothered to wait on the apparent SNEEK developments etc. Have I made the right choice?

Also just to clarify, I'm on a Black Wii 4.2e so apart from the inability to play DVDr, will I have any other problems regarding the booting of Wii/GC games? Region conflict, etc?

    Thanks in advance guys.

No region free on 4.2 but iso loading with GC games works fine and I was just using mine just for that purpose a few minutes ago and I didnt experience a single problem.

Your Wii update versions will determine if you can play out of region games on your WODE. Your DVD chipset will determine if you can or can not play backed up games recorded onto a DVD. The WODE will facilitate you playing all your games via hard drive. If you have many original GC games you can rip them all to your hard drive using the ripping feature. Takes about 10 mins to rip a GC game if I remember correctly.

If you have many out of region games that you wish to play on your Wii. Speaking about Wii games here as well then there is a work around for that.

Cheers for the info guys, so there's ways to get around the region thing for GC/Wii games? Oh and I've softmodded my Wii quite a bit including replacing the system menu theme. This won't cause any problems will it?

Not knowing what your soft mods are I am unable to comment. But if you have softmodded your Wii a little bit. Then I hope you have Gecko installed. If you do then any game is up to be played. I have both 4.2 and 4.1 Wii combo's with the WODE and I have to use Gecko for the 4.2 each and every time. Not an issue as it works so well.

Erm all I have is standard HBC w/ USB Loader, some emulators like wiisx, snes9x etc, triiforce, priiloader 0.3 and a system menu theme.

Will this cause the WODE any problems??

Also how would I go about playing region free GC/Wii games on a 4.2e?

    Thanks dude.

Emulators dont cause any problems as I've been using them since the early days and havnt had any trouble, I also have GX and it hasnt caused any problems and DONT take the guy who mentioned startpatchs advice as R_N_B already gave a you a much safer and easier alternative.
