Right now it makes more sence, i guess with the advent of WODE alot of people will be restoring factory settings.
But could you still dump a disk to a HD using WODE? Or would you still require a dumper app, which would then cancel / or prevent any N updates?
    Thanks
Looking to sort a Hard Drive out, so any advice would be mint

The wode can rip a disk to HDD.
It can play backup disks, not D3-2 or out of region on 4.2, but thats not its purpose.
You can let the Wii update if you don't have softmods.

One good thing about the wode, you can have a hub for multiple HDD's.

    None have been delivered yet.
Yes you can rip a disc using the Wode to HDD.
ISO's can be stored on HDD in NTFS format, and you can store games on WBFS format.
There are other format options, I'm sure people will do some wonderful things with a Wode, but in its simplest form running games from a WBFS or NTFS partition is its main use.

Thats only my view, others may want to say differently.

wiijohn from my understanding the wode can play gamecube iso's from hdd as well correct? (If that is true then soft mod makers should figure out how to emulate that feature if ever possible). Also installing the wode is exactly like installing a premodded DC2 drive or replacing the dvd rom drive correct? If so i will be putting in a pre order has well.

Also installing the wode is exactly like installing a premodded DC2 drive or replacing the dvd rom drive correct? The Wode does not modify anything its just a drive emulator, but with a powerful linux OS so features are expandable.

Some people have complained that if you are on 4.2 you cannot play out of region DVD's., or if you have a D3-2 chip you can't play any DVD's.
This misses the point of the Wode its main use is to use a hub usb.
In this case if you want to use DVD's you will have to softmod.

WODE also includes a flat mod which will allow you to play DVD backups but only if your DVD drive permits you to do so.

Thanks Favs I forgot that. Also I think people will buy Wode not just for what it can do now but they can see its potential.

Thanks wiijohn. Unfortunately I have the new D3-2 nothing drive, but if wode can play gamecube games from hdd like you specified, then there is zero need for me to be able to play games from the dvd drive (I have 5 different dvd players in my home for movies so....).

Usb loading is superior to me anyways. Faster in-game speeds and I don't have to keep putting discs in my wii and hearing the loud dvd drive spin while playing my retail games. I will be putting in my pre-order for the wode. This definitely sounds like the future of wii modding to me. Thanks again!
