wait so the only thing this thing does is play games from a usb drive/hard drive without custom firmware and doesn't need to be updated?

isn't this only usefull for people who can't install the firmware themselves or there disk drive can't read burnt dvds...

$100+ sounds a little expensive for me.

No, theres actually more features than that and the price seems reasonable for what it is.

I like softmods because I find it interesting, but to have a system that my family can use with no fear of wrecking the Wii, keep bang upto date with new Nintendo features, is a great solution.
As for keeping a box full of discs and inserting one every time you want to play a game just seems antiquated.

I think a lot of people just don't realize what the Wode can really do, but then a lot don't really care to do anything more than play backups off a dvd-r. SO it really comes down to the user and their needs. I am going to be putting a Wode on my personal console, and hook up my external hdd

I just ordered it Yesterday from gamertech.ca

I can't wait for this thing. This will be the best ever. I have a few Games that doesn't work somehow, because I have a nephew and a niece that keeps all of them in a stack, CD's alone, when I find it.

Sorry fellas, but am i missing something??? Surely it is easier and probably safer to simply plug in an external HD via the USB port and do a software dump?
I'm new to this so forgive me if i'm far from the mark
Looking to sort a Hard Drive out, so any advice would be mint

The problem wth softmods for some is its high maintenance, and some technical knowledge is required.
With a Wode you can have softmod as well, but you can take a standard Wii, let it update if it wants, get all the latest features of N, without any worry.
