I just got a brand new Wii with 3.4U and I have no idea what drive (prolly the newest one). All I want is to play Wii backups on USB on a system that will not brick. This looks like the product for me!! I can still play the games I have a disc for (Wii Fit, Sports, Play, etc.) and can play games without a disc and no worries that anyone updates the Wii and it gets bricked. PERFECT!! I get all the cool features of 4.2 and get to use wi-fi and wiiconnect24 and still play games on USB
The thing that worries me is that I cant find any install instructions yet. Anyone have a link to those? I will pre-order as soon as I get money from selling my books back. I am in the US, where is the best place to get it? Probably one of the Canadian companies?
also, it talks about the flatchip feature...that is only to play DVD based backups correct? So if i want to do everything via USB I dont need to worry about what drive it is?
Just think of the flatmod as a bonus feature and there wont be install videos until next week sometime or once the suppliers get their review unit.
Awesome device. Who are the UK suppliers of said device? Now this has probably been answered but havenít spotted the post yet so here goesÖ. Will the device enable avi/divx/mpg playback via HDD?
Iíve been itching to softhack my new virgin 4.3e. Is it worth it if Iím fairly confident that Iíll be getting a WODE? Sandisk 2gb SD just delivered to the my desk this morning. I donít think Iíll be able to resist tinkering with the thing and most probably bricking before the arrival of The WODE. Pictures and vid from production line are sweet
The WODE can play mount a DVD iso from your HDD and play it using mplayer.
nice one on the dvd iso however a hack around for the other downloadable file formats would be mega. Would take on a HUGE market share. I know people that have bought standalone devices to play said file formats on a TV.
We have just recieved from china the latest pictures from the PLASTIC factory...

As you can see the MOULD is really BIG and HEAVY, over 300 KG!!
I belive that everyone in production should understand that it is really difficult to produce a perfect mould.
The manufacture took over 2 months to create the current mould, after many samples produced and fixed many imperfections...
Now the mould is ready and prepared to produce over 300.000 pcs. before being replaced.
This weekend the production will start and we belive that we shall be able to respect the dead line...
THANX FOR NOW
This thing is pretty mind blowing. I have a D2Pro and was wondering if I can install it with it or will I have to remove it first. I bought a pre modded drive so I still have the old one if I have to replace the modded one thats no big deal.
