Hello there i'm new to the wii modding community. I've just ordered and Wode for my wii and need guidelines for my wii to getting homebrew working at its best.
Currently my firmware on the wii is 3,3E //I live in sweden
what i'm asking is what firmware is recommended, and what applications do i need to get the most out of homebrews.
like what is bootmii, boot 2 and such, do i need it?

Well, seeing as you're asking about a specific piece of hardware, moved into the Wode Guides section of the site --- you may have a look at the stickies and other threads here.
I wasn't asking for specific hardware , was asking for what was the best firmware to use and wich apps are recommended to get,
You don't need much of anything besides the WODE. Just be sure to NOT go to 4.2, this will kill your ability to play other region games. Unless you wanna use GeckOS. Otherwise you do not need the HBC, or any of the other software such as bootmii.
Modderman PM'd me one day on a post very similar to this. He stated to me WODE plays out of region games just fine on 4.2 (I didn't know, but if it's from him that's like "you can take it to the bank.")

Beats me, but MM was kinda politely "finger pointing" so I went back and edited to reflect this new information :)

WODE does play out of region games on 4.2 if you have HBC and DVDx installed and run WODEflow or Gecko OS.
It is a simple and painless install there is a guide available in here.
Just ask if there are other questions with regard to the WODE you would like answered.
Not to steal his thread but but so far this thread has already answered a few questions for me. Once getting my Wode, I was going to install HBC so that I could get Wodeflow. I guess I'll get Dvdx for the heck of it? My question is, what do I need to download to be able to play N64 games on my Wii/Wode? And can the N64 roms be stored on the WiiHDD, or do they have to be on an SDHC card?
With regards to DVDx there is no question about getting it for the heck of it - you have to have it or WODEflow will not work.Quote:
