Exclamation WODE .BCA creation TUTORIAL NSMB

    Hello,
I just thought I would post here on how to create a .bca file for the WODE.
If you are lazy scroll to the bottom and I will post a download link to the .bca
file for New Super Mario Brothers.

Ok First off, this is for if you want to use a unpatched ISO file.

    Step 1:
You will need to find the bca data, well as of now you have a few choices, you can either softmod your wii and use a program to extract it, which most of us here probably do not want to do because that is why we bought the wode in the first place, or you can search on the internet for the bca info for the game you need, or you can wait for the wode ripping update.

As of now there is only one game that uses the BCA protection and that is the New Super Mario Brothers, and the bca info for the New Super Mario Brothers is the same for ntsc and pal.

The BCA data for NSMB is:
    0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000
    0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000100000000 0000000000000000

    Step 2:
Now you will need to download a hex editor to make your bca file. The editor that seemed to work for me is called Neo Hex editor, and you can download it here: Freeware Hex Editor Neo - Free Binary File Editing Software Utility Download this Tool

Once downloaded install the program. Once installed, open it and make a new file. It should look like this.

Then once you inserted the bca data it should look like this

When finished inserting the bca data into the hex editor, you now must save it. Go to Save As, and now save the file as "filename.bca" for example, your mario game iso was called mariogame.iso then you would name your bca file mariogame.bca

    Step 3
Now that you have created your .bca file what do you do with it? All you have to do is place the file in the same folder as your game iso is located. Which should be your ISO folder for wode users.

If you followed all of this step by step, then you should now have created a working .bca file for the wode.

This should end a lot of questions and help if there are future games with BCA protection that you wish to use with the wode, Good Luck.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a link to download the premade .bca file, just remember to rename it to the same name as your games iso file.
EX: your mario game iso was called mariogame.iso then you would name your bca file mariogame.bca

    nsmbw.bca

    WBFS Manager - bac file?

I use WBFS formatting for my hard drive. Can I use the WBFS Manager to put the bca file for NSMB on it?

I was looking for the exact same answer!
I formatted my drive (small 200GB) as WBFS...now my file sizes are smaller.
I just can't get the BCA file onto the drive! I feel silly.

Looks like all of us with WBFS will have to resize the HD and make a small "FAT32/NTFS" partition and copy ISO to it with the .bca in there. Pretty lame if you ask me.

I figured it out. Just modify your ISO using Dright iso patcher that I found on the forum. It works great. With the click of a button it fixes the ISO on your computer and then you can move it to your WBFS drive after that.

For those still having a problem with the BCA file here is a working (tested with PAL system and WODE) BCA file.

Actually no you just need to have a bca file in the same folder as you game. It needs to be the same name with the bca extension on it as the game of course.

Ok...I have the BCA file named the same as my ISO....

But again I can't copy it to my drive with WBFS manager...Unless I'm really missing something!

NTFS wants to format the drive since it's currently formatted WBFS...so please do share how to get that bca file onto a WBFS formatted drive.

    THanks!!!!

Personally I do not recommend using that particular format for a HDD and the WODE. You are not able to paste the bca file in WBFS. You can use FAT32, NTFS and Ext3 with WBFS files. (for FAT32 assuming the folder is less than 4GB of course).
