If I have time tonight I might just open her up and add another ground. They are easy enough to add.

I had my brother-in-laws wii over here tonight. It has the eject issue. I tried all alternate grounds and none worked. I also tried using the original ground from the diagram with point C, still didn't work.

Biting bullet on this one until there is a definate fix or new chip that comes out.

Oh, also tried shielding with ESD safe bag. Still FUBAR...Grrrrr.

I too was having the eject issue on a D2E drive with the silver ribbon and no epoxy. I used a chassis ground and a ground to the 'C' point in the above diagram. The eject issue has disappeared! Thanks to all for the great info...

I think he is saying he connected a ground point the the metal casing on the dvd drive itself above it not in the middle. I have seen pictures and I will upload a picture when I get home. Interesting that both grounds seemed to have helped.

don't give up. Point B is the +3.3v, right ?
mind to change the Vcc connection from the bottom to this upper spot?
that's, A for the double gnd, B for the 3v3. good luck.

Hey does your brother in laws wii have the silver cable and the white sticker on the drve? That is the one I have and I think its impossible to get rid of the eject issue on it...waiting for a miracle
