Wii II key install bunged up ??

Hello there, I tried installing my wii key 2 today using some instructions found online; I connected the ground, 3.3v A,B,C and G and booted up; unfortunatly the optical drive was not working so I unhooked the wii key to start again and in doing so I dislodged the G pin on the board

My question is.... is there a way if i unscrew the optical drive board that the wii key is installed onto and flip it over and find out where the G pin goes to; could I fix it this way? lol; I think it is wrecked but I want to give it a go.

    any suggestions??

Right now the wii key has been cut disconnected and is working fine playing all my orginal games apart from Super Smash brothers which is kind of annoying and not quite sure why it will not play that one game.

thanks for the help if you can :d

Looking at the drawing on the Wiikey2 installation guide,

you should be able to solder directly to the D2 chip on 2nd pin from the right, bottom side just above where the G is indicated on the diagram. this takes some good soldering skills though.

    Good luck

Hi guys, thanks for your help :-)... I guess my soldering tip was too fat as I really did bung up the install when I went to solder onto the pins; now the optical drive will not work anymore and I have ordered a new optical drive and D2pro installed from an Austrailian Modchipping company.

LOL it was my wifes wii... she is not too happy with me at the moment :-)
