You should get someone that can do it to do the job for you!

Did your backups end up working? Mine still acts kind of funny like for some games it will stop in the middle.

Before destroying your console, I would ship it to a professional, like myself. Spyman and Modderman are also smart choices.

Nope, not one burn works...Disk unreadable (using imgburn @4x on verbatim dvd+r)

and on top of that, the wii system dvd rom insert keeps glowing blue with or without a disk while its on.

Thanks for the suggestion Solderman...may have to do that.
I'll pm you if I decide to go the that route...please name your price and turn around time.

    Same Problem with Aggrovated.

I live in US with a Japanese Wii from my in-law. My chip went like red - blue, red - blue and lock up with the message on screen. Can anyone translate this Japanese error on the attachment? I don't read Japanese. Yes, I followed the instruction and booted it up with a Original Japanese disk. My Chip is configured for d2a/d2b/dms and it has electrical tape on D, E, F, and G as you can see from the picture. When I removed the chip, the Wii works as normal. Anyone can help, I will be really appreciated.

Hey kwong - It says "An error has occured. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for troubleshooting.

yes my drive works fine without the wikey2 and wiiclip.
can you be more specific please.

Edit: over and over again...I make sure i have the contact points on the wiiclip out enough and then reset the wiiclip into place and I always get red, blue, red, blue led's...../then nothing
    Arrrrrggghhhh!!!!

also @Spyman....can you help me please?
    anyone? please?
I'm about to throw the $80 key and clip in the trash....cause there is no way I can solder the damn thing on.

BTW: it has a yellow sticker for gc2-dms and all the holographic stickers. and looks exactly like tatombs

Edit#2: OMG...this thing is quirky! after about 50 tries, It seems the drive is working...the clip/chip is in and the drive is working! yeah!
now to test if a back-up works.
The wii-clip is supposed to be bigger, do not seperate the pieces it will not work then. Also they made it intentionally bigger so when its closed and screwed together the added pressure keeps it on secure.
The only points soldered for a d2a/dms/d2b should be ABC GND 3V3 not all of them. Trying it over and over you've probably damaged the clip beyond fixing, so at this point your options are soldering it in directly which is quite easy (5 wires) , or getting a new clip.

This is likely because its not clipped in all the way, or one of the pins is bent and causing a short.

I have the same problem with just a steady red light that stays on when I boot the system. I just got a wiikey 2 presolder on the V14 clip from Canadamods. there is no drive activity at all. If I remove the clip/chip all is fine. any advice..is canadamods return/exchange good? I have a D2C chip in my wii. My chip/clip has GND, 3V3, A,b,c,and G soldered.
I live in the USA by Chicago.
