Hi, I have the same problem as xboxjackel.

I have a wiikey 2 with a wii-clip but I have a GC2-DMS. I think I carefully clipped it on properly and when I turn on my wii, the led on the wiikey 2 flashes red-blue-red-blue. However it will not pull any games in and when I take the chip out, it works normally again.

    I don't think it is a fake: Here's a picture

    Thanks!

look at the pins on the clip, see if there are any recessed or pushed off to the side > adjust the pins on the clip with a small screw driver. you basically want good contact between the pins on the clip and the IC your clipping it on to. try that and push it on again, if it doesn't work try one more time and try again..

thanks i'll try that again in the morning.

Also, i've tried contacting the supplier for technical support at modchip.ca. They mentioned something about the traces C, D, E on the IC are clipped on the newer wii models and that i should try clipping them off on my DMS. I don't really want to do any permanent changes on my wii quite yet.

I have the same problem as you tatbomb...but not only does the eject button not work, but the drive does not spin either. I also noticed that the wiiclip actually binds between the drive and the metal plate underneath because of it's thickness, preventing the drive to seat properly. I tried to circumvent this by removing the top portion of the clip (the part just on top sandwiching the clip) which made the drive finally seat properly, but that didn't work either. so as of now the wiikey 2 w/ wiiclip does not work on my gc2-dms wii.

I took condition1's advise, but it still doesn't want to work.

I also heard about clipping pins on gc2-dms wii models...but i'm not prepared to make any permanent changes as well.

so if anybody has a viable solution to this problem...please let us know...
    Thanks in advance!

What I learned from the hard way is that the circuit points, D, E, F, G on the wiikey 2 and the clip must not be soldered together for the G2S-DMS so I completely removed it... along with the attached panels. That should get your drive to work.

When you turn on the power, the led light should flash red-blue-red-blue..etc until a solid red light remains.

For the most part, I can play most of my backup games. I'm still having problems with Mario Kart and drive/eject issues but right now i'll just enjoy what I can play.

you completely removed what? the wiikey from the wiiclip?
yes my drive works fine without the wikey2 and wiiclip.
can you be more specific please.

Edit: over and over again...I make sure i have the contact points on the wiiclip out enough and then reset the wiiclip into place and I always get red, blue, red, blue led's...../then nothing
    Arrrrrggghhhh!!!!

also @Spyman....can you help me please?
    anyone? please?
I'm about to throw the $80 key and clip in the trash....cause there is no way I can solder the damn thing on.

BTW: it has a yellow sticker for gc2-dms and all the holographic stickers. and looks exactly like tatombs

Edit#2: OMG...this thing is quirky! after about 50 tries, It seems the drive is working...the clip/chip is in and the drive is working! yeah!
now to test if a back-up works.
