    Question Virgin Wii 4.3U With WiiKey 2 ????

    I'm new on this theme.

    Is possible install the WiiKey 2 Soldered or Solderless in a Virgin Wii with 4.3U firmware?

    Sure you can. It just wont do anything becasuse 4.3 will prevent your chip for working.

    This is the issue, the Wii already has 4.3U firmware.

    4.3 won't stop a modchip from working. The d3-2 drive will though. (WODE and SunDriver Still work)

    My apologies el_chapulin. I stand corrected. I thought that the new SM removed the ability to use a modchip. I have never installed a modchip and my knowledge is limited. But if you have a new wii then the chances that you have a D3-2 drive chip is very high.

    I have 4.2e in a new wii I got. Can I swap out my d4 drive for say a D2E and then put a wiikey 2 solderless on and play my backups. Any help would be much appreciated as I am just unsure. Further, what is the advantage/disadvatnages of updating to 4.3e?
