Wiikey v1 1.9s.. update to 4.2u failed halfway through
First and foremost, I take full responsibility for my Wii ignorance. This is not another "my great grandma's daughters uncle's little cousin updated my Wii when I was gone.. WHAT DO I DOES?!?!? thread.
I hadn't played my Wii in a while, and I wanted to try NSMB. I had no soft mods on my Wii at all. Just the latest firmware 1.9s on my WiiKey. I downloaded a pre-patched version of NSMB and attempted to run it. It said I needed to do an update, which I accepted. It did a quick update in less then 2 minutes, put me back to the home screen, so I clicked on the game again. It then advised for another update. It took about 6 minutes, and then about halfway through, I got an error that update failed and it said I had to power down the Wii.
I thought the Wii was bricked at this point, but to my surprise, it booted fine after. I now have the SD card icon in the main menu, (which i think is 4.2u correct?) but when I check under system settings, it says I have 4.1 installed.
I want to try and install HBC now, and Priiloader, etc.. to try and reinstall the update/firmware, and backup stuff to help prevent a brick (stuff I had no clue about till I researched after this epic fail by me) but I'm scared since I think I have a mixed hybrid of 4.1 and 4.2 right now.
Is there an easy way to fix this? Or am I pooched. Backups load OK still. Wii Sports original does not work however.
Thanks to any insight.
from 4.0 upwardds , you will have the SD icon so you dont have a hybrid system menu, check out DAVEpm's guide to NSMB for how to play it.
Please Thanks if I Helped

Thanks. So I should be OK to install HBC via the BannerBomb exploit for 4.1? I shouldn't be too concerned that the 4.2U update failed halfway through?
