Unhappy Newbie question!!! Plz help wiikey does not read disks

I bought a wiikey and installed it a few minutes ago. I checked all the solder points and they're pretty solid. however the wii won't read any disks. Origionals just spin for a few seconds and stop and burned games spin for a while, make some clicky noises and then it gives me a "disk cannot be read" error The config and update disks don't work either
    plz help!!!
    thanks

im no expert solder but i think you should have used wires and you sre you didnt brige you connections, you may have killed your drive. i would suggest remove eveything from the wii and make sure it works.

this is another thread I made about the same wiikey before I installed it
    http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-modchip/...key-clone.html
i've suspected that it was a clone from the beginning and now i think i might be right
I would really hate to buy another key so plz tell me any other ways that the key might fail before I go and buy a key from an official reseller
    thanks

Yeah from what i saw on your 2 pictures.. you might have brigded 1 or 2 connection
points.. I would remove the WiiKey, make sure the Drive works fine with out it..
Then try it again with wires.. "Quip13" ==> Briging means connection to points by mistake.
2 points there are not supposed to be soldered..

Picture of how your mod should look like..

Even if you think u have a clone, it should still work & read backups..
"U wont be able to update the firmware on it to play SMG, SSBB or any other new games"
I could sell you a Official WiiKey if the one u have happens to be a clone..

You did good following the diagram..
but there is no telling which two points may be touching..
try removing the chip & redo the mod with wires..
I bet that will work better for you..

If your chip is a clone you'll need to run the setup disc and save the settings before the chip will work. That's one sure fire way to know if a chip is a clone or not.

From the pics it does look like you might have some bridging but it's hard to tell without seeing it in person or having some better pictures. Use a multimeter to check for bridges between the Wiikey pads.
