Thanks for the reply. I have DL'd a few different versions of NSMB. The one that said Patched gives me a black screen with an error message and I have to shut off the Wii. 2 other versions, don't know if their patched or modified, want to load but show "Wii System Update". I'm already at 4.1U and I don't know if the update will put me at 4.2U. So your saying that almost everyone that is getting this to work, with the WiiKey2 V1.3 update, is also doing some level of softmod? Does anybody know of a non-patched / modified version of NSMB? Thanks fof any help.

I ended up softmodding it, and it was wierd, as I went to show my friends how to use it, the disk finally came up in the right window, it loaded up , than boom got the baclk screen error about the disk. But loads and plays fine in neogamma so all is good.
I recommend softmodding and not worrying about the wiikey

Bottom line, if your on 4.0 or 4.1 and you have a Wiikey2 version 1.3 chipped wii, take the NSMB disc update if your SURE it is the same region. It will update you to 4.1 and install the needed IOS to play the game. I have taken at least 5 disc updates (NSMB, Beatles Rock band and others) in the last year from version 3.4 to 4.0 with no harm to my NTSC-U Wii with a Wiikey2 and homebrew. If your getting a disc update screen, you have an unscrubbed version and it should work once you take the disc update.

Jeepers, I took your advice and took the "Wii System Update" thru the NSMB disc, in the Disc Channel. It worked. NSMB loaded and I played it for about 10 minutes. Also, my Wii firmware stayed at 4.1U. So, no softmod is needed. Just the WiiKey 2 V1.3 update and Wii System update thru the disc for the IOS. I want to thank everyone for their help.

I am trying the Wiikey2 update as well. So far my Wii hasn't even registered that there is a disc inside it. I'm wondering if perhaps I'm burning it wrong?

I was told that if I updated the wiikey2 it should be okay. Also are the default 1.3 settings okay? I wasn't sure what to select... I don't really want to go through all the soft mod stuff but we'll see.

PS- Is there anyway to get NeoGamma to work without doing the whole cIOS thing? My Wii is reading it but then the screen goes black and I have to re-boot.
