    Question WiiKey Firmware

Everytime I try to download the new firmware from WiiKey.cn, it gets saved as a torrent file, then if I change it to .img, its not recognised by imgburn, any ideas???

    Edit: Sorted, found them elsewhere.

Last question, My Wii has the D2B chip with 3 cut legs on the chip, can I just use the WiiKey straight from the packet or is there something else I have to do apart from the 6 solder points on the WiiKey??

well you have to solder onto the 3 cut legs

I would have used a different chip like d2pro9 or wasabi

    Thumbs up

Well for one, a .torrent file means you didn't actually download a file, its giving you "portal" to "p2P" file sharing.... you need a client like bittorrent or u-torrent (i prefer u-torrent). Open that .torrent file with your client, and it should start downloading whatever it needs from random people around the world.

I recently did a D2B with the cut legs using WiiKey. It takes some patience and a steady hand for sure. For most people the wiikey is by far easier to install than any of the other mods. If you have cut legs and have never done a mod before, I suggest buying a d2b drive with uncut legs on ebay. Then just sell yours. I also recently purchased 4 d3b drives from a guy in TX on ebay and they all were in perfect working order. I would rather go this route then trying to mess with any of the mod chips that work on the new D2C drive chipset. For $100 you can get a d2b drive and save yourself the headaches and then just sell your d2c on ebay which will bring $75+ on ebay.

D2Pro9 and Wasabi is a 5 wire mod on the non- d2c wii's...means they work on older wii drives....

These 2 chips uses different points so it doesn't matter that the legs are cut.

Ok many thanks for all the replies, I'll do what you say modderman and go for a D2Pro9.
