pins cut vs pins not cut

What's the difference between cut and non-cut?

    Mine is:
Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2C.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.

And why the WiiKey vs D2Ckey when the WiiKey has less wires to solder?

    Thanks

Yeah I've alway been wondering about the difference of those 2. Anyway wastedthelight did you just buy your wii recently? If so you might want to check if it's modable before modding it. Wiikey isn't for D2C Drive that why lol XD Wiikey is for older version of wii. you can choose D2pro9 which only has 9wire and 4 additional for regionfree also updatable via jtag.

I got mine around in February i think. I been planing on the D2pro9 but now deciding if i want to solder it or not. Can't take it apart to see how small the points are (stupid screwdriver). I soldered my xbox (first solder job ever...dumb i know...) and that was with 16 wires or something like that. Figure 9 is a good number.

There are unmodable Wii's now? How do you tell?

yeah if you read the homepage of this site you will see a topic bout the unmodable Wii. Thanks modderman for this info. I can tell you how small the D2C legs are lol they are verysmall I was susprised when i see how small it is compare to the pictures and vids i see around. If you're not confidence on your soldering just go with the solderless just remember my tips for installing and handling the wii clip. But though solder it will be the best option.
