    Ca wiikey 1 1.9s w/4.2u

System got updated to 4.2u with the insertion of NSMB, not good from what I have read, but wiikey had pre-SSB firmware, so I updated the wiikey to 1.9s and it now has disc read errors all the time, even with games & discs we have used for years.. is it 4.2 or the 1.9 upgrade causing this greif? Its an early wii model that had the cut ic legs..

    Thanks

I'm on 4.2 and original WiiKey 1.9s is working well. Maybe bad firmware programming. Run the update again maybe that helps...

I think the 4.2 firmware might have killed your chip. If not, then it just killed all your out of region games.

I am having the same problem. I had to soft mod it to work around it for now. I would like to go back to the wii key though.

I have been looking and there is no downgrade right now. I want to kick my self so bad for this one. But I wasn't worried about it because of the chip. N you sneeky bastards!!!!!!!!!

Same problem as well. I cant seem to run any games now. I can get Homebrew to install but no apps will show up. I wish Wiikey would update. Does the 1.9s update actually do anything worthy?

I'm curious atzplzw: did you update to 4.2 with the wiiKey connected or disconnected? maybe thats how they make the wiikey not work. maybe plugging the wiikey 1 back into the wii after the update keeps it going? I have the wiikey 1 and im holding off from updating wii until i learn more. i got it in novemer, wii with the d-3 chip, 3.4u. works good so far, smg works, final fantasy crystal bearers ask for update, and i don't want to yet. im holding off on that one. avitar seems to work fine. have not yet tried ssbb, nsmb. doing research first ps anytips on dumping ssbb, programs? can't seem to find one. thanks for any input

As you know the Wiikey has to be soldered. So of course, I couldn't unplugg it or so.
And also updating has nothing to do with a chip. It never did...

Read wiibrew about System Menu 4.2. If you have homebrew just use the new installer 0.6 before updating...
