Wiikey 1 or 2?

i bought a wii from another person.
I was told it was modded with a wiikey...
but im sure if its Wiikey 1 or 2
I want to update my wiikey but i don't know which update to use...
Is there any way to figure out which mod my wii has???

Would it brick my wii if i used the wrong update/firmware?? (Wiikey 1 but using 2's or vice versa) or would it just don't work?

I believe it just wouldnt work... but if u like to make sure...
just open your console with careful...

wiikey2 fware update will not work on the wiikey1

nor the other way around

so no worries
