    Wiikey 2 with 4.1, should I upgrade to 4.2?

Okay... I don't really care about Homebrew.
I have never really use anything in Homebrew.

I like to upgrade my wii from 4.1U to 4.2. I understand I will lose homebrew but I dont really care about that. Will my backups still work?
There has been conflict messages saying none of backups will work anymore with Wiikey 2. some said only the PAL version won't play.
95% of my games are NTSC and backup on Verbatium-DVDR

am I safe? the reason is that some of new games won't play, i think 4.2 is required.

No, you will loss region free support. Stay on 4.1.

but if all my games are NTSC, does that really matter?
i don't have anything that's PAL... I just don't want to have to worry about not being able to play some of the newest games without upgrade

I just worry about killing my Wiikey2. I have heard 4.2 will disable some Modchips. Is that not true?

it doesnt technically kill your wiikey2. Its just make out of region games unplayable through the disc channel.

No don't update through a wireless connection. It will give you firmware 4.2, so instead if you have an unsrubbed game that just came out, you can use that to update you wii instead. Make sure it still has the updates in the game. Some games will have the updates removed and it will cause your wii to brick. So try to get an unsrubbed new game and do an update through the disc channel. Its should put your wii on firmware 4.1
