    Update Firmware Wiikey 1.9b

    Yes, its not g - for galaxy any more, wiikey released a new firmware update disc for 1.9b, 1.9g was just a temporary hotfix so we could all enjoy Super Mario Galaxy, no one else really looked into the new 1.9b firmware because of the letters, but this is the actual updated firmware, if you want to enable region free wii then you have to use the 1.3 disc to enable region free encoding after you install 1.9b. Enjoy

    hey yea

    yea they didnt release a report about it because it is a firmware update, but the HOTFIX works just as well, so they probably didnt make a big deal but here is the info file for it

    .------------------------------------------------------------------.
    - wiiKey update v1.9b -
    |------------------------------------------------------------------|
    "wheres teh update?" |
    ---------------------- |
    right...first off, we like to apologize for the long wait. we |
    understand that some people have been very upset about it. all |
    we like to say is that the truth is often a bit more complex |
    than what people make up on forums, and shit happens. anyways, |
    those that didn't die of accumulated anger... |
    welcome to wicked wiikey update! |
    so what's new ? |
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
    - audiofix fixed o_0 |
    - dual layer support (no bitsetting required) |
    - improved media support (all supported chipsets) |
    - full Gamecube regionfree (no-swap/video setup) |
    - various "smaller" improvements/fixes |
    - workaround for FW 3.0 gameid limitation |
    (existing wkb 1.2 discs will boot again) |
    - "on the fly" settings for gc games (by holding buttons) |
    - toggle audiofix, diskspeed, force NTSC/PAL |
    ------------------------------------------------------------------|
    Full GC Regionfree |
    --------------------- |
    Boots GC imports directly using a small apploader hook to setup |
    the correct video mode. To enable this feature use the new |
    config disc (1.3). Make sure you also enable the basic region |
    feature, thats what gets you through the wii menu in the first |
    place. Unlike a real GC, the NTSC Wii doesnt output PAL50. That |
    means the game may run but theres no picture. PAL60 games will |
    work, however you need to enable it. The common way to bring up |
    the "use PAL60?" dialog on a game is to hold B while booting. |
    Forcing to NTSC may work as well. PAL consoles output NTSC just |
    fine. |
    ------------------------------------------------------------------|
    Flashing the update |
    ------------------- |
    The update ISO is located in update/wkupdate.1.9b.xx.iso, where |
    xx responds to a region, ie us, jap, or pal. To burn the image |
    to a DVD-R, it should first be padded as many DVD recorders will |
    not burn the image in its original size correctly. This can be |
    by executing the following command (assuming you are in the |
    update/ directory): filechop.exe wkupdate.1.9b.xx.iso 1459978240 |
    where xx corresponds to your region. This will create a 1.4GB |
    image which can be recorded using Image Burner or other software.|
    The update disc should appear as a Gamecube disc in the Wii menu.|
    Once started, it will start by performing a test flash cycle, |
    during which nothing will be written to the chip. Once this has |
    completed successfully you will be prompted to start the update. |
    When the update is in progress it is VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO TURN |
    OFF THE CONSOLE!!! Once the flashing is completed you will be |
    notified. Press reset to reboot your Wii with the new firmware! |
    After updating the EEPROM is set to default, ie regionfree off. |
    You will need to run the config disc to set up region free. |
    Final words |
    ------------ |
    With this update we have accomplished what we set out to do. We |
    would like to thank all loyal customers for choosing wiikey, the |
    beta testers who helped out with testing this update, the authors|
    of the applications on the setup disc for allowing us to include |
    their work, wiinewz.com, gbatemp.net and all other sites posting |
    news about wiikey (whether good or bad)... and YOU! |
    you confuse me!
    19.g is not a "update" it is a "replacement". so when you install 1.9g you "lose" 1.9b ... cause there can only be one firmware on the chip ... there is no such thing as dual boot or firmeware modification ... its just 1.9g or 19.b or whatever.
    So you are saying that they included the mario-fix from the G Version in the B version? Without telling us and thanking us for our patient?
    Are you sure you realy installed 1.9b? Sometimes the installer says it did something, but did nothing.
    Well I am just asking that stupid because I cant read this on any other board.
