Unhappy Wii key w/ gamecube OS

i'm having an issue loading any GCOS on my wii. The wii has 2.2u firmware and the wiikey is still running 1.2.
the GCOS screen will come up, but it will freeze with the 2 options of "boot dvd" and "credits". these are the only 2 options is giving my, boot dvd is highlighted but wont move or do anything no matter what buttons i press (besides the off button.)
this same screen comes up with any disk i try, from the multitude of emulator disks and with the wii key disk. all the other options work fine in the wii disk.

    any ideas?

I got money on the fact you are using the Wiimote... gcos= gamecube controller. That's why the ports for a gamecube controller are there.

Well, if it actually is freezing it is probably a bad burn... I am assuming you are speaking of a burned game. Also could be a bad ISO or file. I suppose it could also be that you need a newer firmware, however I was initially running that firmware myself without issue. If burned Wii games are working fine then I don't think it could be a mod chip issue. I also make the assumption that your gamecube controller works, and the port you are placing it in works, such that you have tested it on another game. If this is all true, I would suggest getting the gamecube multigameISOcreator and just throwing isos into that (even if you only want just the one) as that is what has always worked for me. I suppose you should make sure you are booting a disc formatted for your system, as there are alot of problems trying to boot discs of different regions. I have an NTSC system, therefore I boot NTSC gcos games. I have tried PAL, and though I do get past the spot where you are getting stucj, it always crashes before the game gets a chance to load.
    Hope this helps!

I also thought of asking, do you have a gamecube game on the dvd? If not, that is probably the issue you are having. The gcos that you have on your wiikey 1.2 disc does not include any games. That is where my last post comes into plays. Get the multigameisocreator and it will boot on your wii with the same screen, but then you can pick the game that is on the disc. it also shrinks some games to as small as 300mb, allowing you to place multiple games on one disc. Some games can be shrunk, but will not work shrunk, so it is trial and error really. I have all NTSC PAL JAP Donkey Konga games and Jungle Beat for a total of around 8 games, only taking up about 2.5 gigs on one disc. All of them work fine (as I said in my previous post though, PAL games do crash on my NTSV system usually)

as far as having gamecube games on the wiikey config, i'm not sure if i addd them correctly or not., but the 5 other emulation disks i've downloaded did have the games, so i ruled out that theory. and i've tried making my own using ntsc and pal versions. and different speeds/disks, so i dont think it is a bad burn.
i used the controller fine for hours playing some of the snes games.

the multigameisocreator just creates one iso from multiple gamecube games? i dont really have any gamecube games i want to play.

all i really want are my mame and n64 roms.

yeah it makes multiple gamecube games onto one disk. i was not aware that you wanted mame and n64 roms to run. What are you doing with the gcos then? That just runs gamecube games... GCOS = Gamecube Operating System. It shouldn't, by nature, run anything other than gamecube games. If you are talking about emulation, I have no idea what n64/mame emulators you are using.

what I am getting at here, is if you are running an emulator, which boots off of GCOS that means that you are running an emulator made for the gamecube. Essentially is this a n64 and mame emu for the gamecube? It simply may not work on the wii, not all games and emus (homebrew) will be compatible. In short, it sounds to me like you have an n64/mame emulator made for the gamecube which the wii just won't boot. If this is the case I don;t think there is anything you can do to fix it, MAYBE a firmware update, but since this is not an official product you are trying to load it sounds like you won;t be able tog et this running.

Where did you get this emu cd from. I'll download it and see what exactly happens if you give me a link. Thanks!
