    upgarding from wiikey1 to wiikey2

    hi guys,

i have had wiikey installed by my modder. the wiikey worked fine for 4-5 months. then stupidly i thought id update the wii through the SYSTEM UPDATE. the wii gave me message that the wii was already updated to the latest firmware. then my backups stopped working. i tried every thing to get the wiikey up and runinng again but failed. so now im thinking of buying a wiikey 2 with wii clip.

    SO my simple question is:-
DO I HAVE TO UNSOLDER MY WIIKEY 1 AND THEN INSTALL A WIIKEY 2??
    OR
CAN I INSTALL THE WIIKEY 2 +WIICLIP WITHOUT TOUCHING THE WIIKEY1??

im on firmware 3.3e if that helps in any way at all.

    Thanks

I am not 100% sure but I wouldn't risk leaving the wiikey 1 attached. You will have to unsolder the wiikey 1 and then install the wiikey 2. If you have a modder I would recommend having it soldered in as the clips can cause big issues.

thanks for reply. my main reason for getting a wiikey 2 with wii clip was wel....

when i had my wii modded i had to post it to my modder. cause hes pretty far away. i got it back and played backups flawlessly. after 4-5 months it stopped working.
after i had the problem with wiikey1 i showed it to a friend. he tried every thing to get it up and running, but failed.
i read forums and people say a new mod chip will solve the problem.
i contacted my modder and he never replyed back.
who knows what happed, if he got caught or whatever.
ANY WAYS i saw a wiikey 2 and found a wii clip and thought i might get away by modding it myself.

i have no soldering equipment. so i cant take out my wiikey1.

if there is no other option you think i could use FlatMii or backup launcher for my permanent answer.
