Mad world PAL and black screen with wiikey2
Same or similar problem to people above. Boot MADWORLD (PAL) back up on Pal wii that has wiikey 2 and getting the black screen.
Im am really knew to home brew stuff but i'd prefer to avoid it, can i get an update for wiikey?
If there are other solutions could people help out with posting links and instructions for me and others to have a step by step guide for a solution.
Any help guys would REALLY HELP! THANK YOU!
Well I got it fixed on my NTSC-U wii. I just set my wiikey 2 to allow the update. It didn't change my firmware. I'm assuming it's the same for PAL.

Like yeh if you have a 3.1E, get the home brew with the twighlight hack and instal the IOS 53, 55,56 with the WAD manager and then it's done. HOW DOES THAT HELP ANYONE who has NO CLUE what any of that means??? Often people get others to install there MOD chips on there wii's and then the user just downloads back ups and thats all they know.
Solution to this problem for me was to instal home brew and this is simple guide of how to do that:
1. Went to you tube and watched this video:
2. It asks you to have zelda twighlight princess and an SD card. The zelda twighlight princess can be a backup copy, doesnt have to be official.
3. It also asks you to go to this link:
SD Card for 3.1 - 3.3.zip
4. Theres a download file there to download the homebrew stuff to put on the SD. The video above will guide you through the rest.
NOTE: There is a step that tells you to copy the zelda save block to your SD card. My wii told me the file already existed on my SD card. What i had to do was delete the Zelda save block on my wii and then just follow the steps as normal after that to copy the file from the SD card to the Wii. Make sure you choose the right file depending on where u live normally or what type of wii you have if you have had it imported. e.g. EUR = Europe JAP = Japan US = USA. That was pretty self explainitory and it'll all make sense once you go through the steps on the video.
NOTE 2: I was a bit baffled when it said to go into zelda to complete this homebrew install. But it's correct, once you have copied the files from the SD card to the wii. You do indeed need to go into Zelda and play it. You'll notice a new quest log to open up and once this does open up and your in the game, there is a guy infront of you. Go and talk to him and VOILLA!! it begins to install. Press "1" on your wii to accept all the terms and conditions. Then once thats all complete, the wii may reset, it might not. There will then be the Homebrew channel on your wii homepage. Go into it and use the Geckos program in there to Launch the game (MADWORLD) and then MADWORLD should now work with no blackscreen problems which i had.

I took that advise from someone on the demonoid forums about this problem..well, the game DOES infact play..but only for about 3 mins before it shows "cannot read disc, please restart wii"..googled a bit, turns out it was an IOS problem, "38, 53, and 55" to be exact...and to install those, you need the homebrew channel with WAD manager.

I'm officially stuck at 4.0U with half the games I burn having the "cannot read disc" error after about 5 mins of gameplay.
I've downloaded two different versions of MadWorld, burned them both at 3 different speeds..so I know it's not a DVD problem. The error always shows up with the ingame font, not the Wii menu font.
