    'Unable to read disk' problem

I installed the pre-soldered Wiikey 2 last week. I know it's working because the disk config is working fine. None of my backups is working though, I always get the 'unable to read disk' error message.

    NTSC Wii + Wiikey 2

I tried to burn 4 different iso's (3 PAL and 1 NTSC), I tried Nero and ImgBurn with different medias too (Verbatim and Sony). The only one working is the disc config, the rest shows me unable to read. I burned it with 4x speed (burner doesn't support any slower speed).

Any suggestions? I don't think it's the burner or could it be?

Are you burning Wii games or Gamecube games? I'd suggest you try to burn a Gamecube game just to see if that's recognized since the Wiikey disk config I think is written to boot using GCOS.

I'm partially wondering though about the modchip install and possibly your firmware. Can you double check the soldering of the chip?

BTW, I only have Wiikey 1 so I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the new one but I've read that kind of problem with the first Wiikey as well. Good luck!

The Wii is at 3.3U and the Wiikey is 1.2

It was pre-soldered so it was fairly easy to install.

at 3.3 your copies need to be exact 1:1 if you are downloading them they are probably scrubbed and wont work. what size is your downloaded file?

Do you think it's best to upgrade to the latest Wii version? Does that help?
