    First try with Modchip

    Hi all

    Any advice appreciated

I have installed my wiikey 2 on my DMS wii. Mod went well and put it back together after checking it can play original games. Have the eject issue but get around that will a full shutdown. Plays all my original games ok.

I have a copy of PGA 09 burnt on x2 on verbatim using my notebook burner sony dvd DW - Q58 A (fully working never any issues)

The image was an nrg file full size that appeared to burn file and verfied with nero

I have on my wii 3.4E?????

I didnt think I needed homebrew to play, but the wii wont read the disc

The nrg file is quoted as a PAL (burn with IMg which I have also done!)

Anything Im missing for a newbie!!!!!!

    Ok next update

now back open the disc loads the upgrade/config disc when I hold down the eject button

I lauch the gamecube screen and still get the error message no Wiikey 2 chip found

but now I see the red light stays on on the wiikey 2 chip

When I load a disc normally the red flashes then blue then off as in the video I saw for install so I thought it was ok

    I bought a DMS wiikey 2 chip?

Any ideas , could they have sent me the wrong one

The clip has been installed ok I think as its flush to the board and I did even get a click on install

Clips arent reliable, they tend to move and the contacts get bent very easily.check it and see if maybe the pins are shorted....the best way is with a solder job.The lights should just flash twice and then go out on power up.

it really depends on alotm of things, eg 3.4 is supposed to block fakesigned games: eg brickblocked, changed region, scrubbed etc.

Then you get games that are out of region, Sometimes you cant play them (I have NTSC game on Pal wii it wont boot from disc channel) But I can load it through a backup loader.

Also if you want to get wads, like wiiware for free etc, then you will need homebrew channel...
