What media are you using, and what speed are you burning at?

hahah m8 your very nice i must say, if you actually bother to read, i was complaining at you advising to block ALL updates, which can cause errors in games if they actually REQUIRE the update, if you had actually BOTHERED TO READ WHAT I SAID, i said that it selects your region judging by what disc you first input...

i am using Memorex dvd+r and burning at the slowest speed in magic iso (don’t know off the top of my head what that is.) I think I’m going to unsolder the wiikey 2 from the clip and solder it to the board (it is what I should have done in the first place, the chip seems like a piece of crap that I paid 20$ extra for)

By chip I assume you meant clip. I don't think that the wiikey 2 is crap at all and you can't beat its performance considering its price.

I would try different media before you solder the chip on however. Only once you get some verbatim -r or some quality -r would I solder.

yes I did mean clip, after I already unsoldered the wiikey from the clip and that went pretty well but when i tried to solder the wiikey to the dvd drive that’s when things feel apart and went to shit...let’s just say I got 90% done then I hit a wall AKA the last solder pad on the wii I needed to solder lifted off the pcb dvd board....after removing all the other wires (5 wires I soldered on already) and re-installing the dvd drive back on the wii the only thing that doesn’t work now is the blue light on the front of the wii when you put in a disc. I am thankful that it worked out like that BUT I was doing some looking online and found something called "flatmii" it runs iso files (even scrubbed iso's) right from a computer to the wii vea usb cable so you don’t even need to burn the iso’s onto a disc making the dvd drive on the wii obsolete. I WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND THAT FIRST AND NOT THE WIIKEY2. the set up I have now is a 52 inch sony HDTV with my HTPC (I have all my dvds backed up on this and watch them right from my NAS drives (4TB) and have a 1TB hard drive in the HTPC just for my bluray media (around 700gb free as of now) so loading a wii iso from that to the wii is ideal for me. Thank you all for your help and I hope I didn’t cause to much heart burn between any members
