Japanese Wii with Wiikey2 question

I have a Japanese Wii that I am planning to mod with the Wiikey2. After I install the chip, will I be able to play US region discs or will that brick my Wii?

dont you have region free wii if so it wont matter i guess

never heard of that,but you can change the region to us but i dont think you can play us games on a jap wii you have to keep it in your region (sorry i'm incorrect may cause you trouble sorry)

cough cough anyways you can also get the free loader to play any game around the world

you can order it online...well if you buy a free loader then get a us wii then you can play imported games

Is better to have it modded in order to play backup games.

As for the us games, you may want to use regionfrii to alter the backup copy (ISO) to your region before you burn it.

Yes with all current modchips...a japanese modded wii ...will play other region games..like ntsc-u/Pal/K

Do I need to worry about playing a US game and bricking my Japanese Wii? Or is that not a valid concern?

my Jap Wii has chip-modded and homebrew channel installed. with GeckoOS, Gamma, most Jap/US/Pal backups are playable.
wiikey2 is fine for yours. u load Jap iso's directly fm disc channel. u load US/Pal iso's via Gecko or Gamma. Always !! this'll keep ur Jap Wii away fm bricking.
a good practice is to apply WiiBrickBlocker onto each of ur US/Pal iso's. like double insurance. but, not a MUST when u play disciplinarily with GeckoOS /Gamma.

edit : u better do WiiBrickBlocker, as ur younger bro may accidently feed the Wii with out of region iso. lol
