Problems with Wiikey 2 after installing HBC

Hello all! First off, i'd like to give much love to this forum. It is by far the best site for Wii help. Unfortunately, I've got a problem that I cannot search my way out of. I picked up a Wiikey 2 and installed it a week ago and following tutorials and posts on this website, managed to get it working. I guess I should have stopped after I got the chip working, but as I continued to read posts on this site recommending the downgrade to 3.2, I decided to follow suit. So I followed the tutorial by EmperorOfCanada (awesome tut btw), I successfully downgraded it to 3.2U(originally 3.3U). I also installed starfall and everything else on the tut as well. Unfortunately, now I can't get my backups to load. They loaded before, but won't now. I did some more reading and found out there exists a conflict between Wiikey 2 and starfall and many suggest disabling all the feature in starfall to subdue any conflicts. I disabled all the features of starfall, but am still having backup loading issues. Is there anything else i'm missing? Thanks!

Can you be a little bit more specific when you say the game doesn't load.

Are you getting an error? What is happening exactly? I have a wiikey 2 and I have HBC installed with starfall and I don't have a problem with any of my games. Are you sure youre wiikey 2 is updated to 1.2?

    Still seems odd however.

My apologies and thanks for the reply.

Well the game starts to load. It seems like it will boot and it takes you to the prompt where the system tells you to put the strap on. Then you get a glimpse at the opening screen and then it disappears and a black screen pops up with the text stating it can't read the disc and it tells me to refer to the Wii operations manual. Again, the backups(Super Paper Mario and Mario Party 8) were working prior to installing HBC, downgrading and starfall.

I purchased my Wiikey 2 from modchip central. I loaded config/update V1.2 from Wiikey's website. I've already disabled all features in Starfall and still nothing. I'm really confused. As of right now, I seem to be an isolated case, but I can't understand why it would work before and all of a sudden stop.

Honestly sounds like a media issue. Maybe the wii because more sensitive to your specific media when updating the IOS I dont know. Someone with more experience can maybe comment on this. I assume your other ones are working?

Try and reburn or redownload the file and burn at a different speed or with a different disc.

Sounds like a media issue to me as well. Sometimes a smudge on the disc in the area it need to read from. I have had disc work for a couple weeks and will not load anymore so I reburn a new one. Sometimes cleaning the disc works.

    from the wiibrew site:

The WiiKey2 config/update disk may have problems do to some Starfall settings. Please remove the Update Blocker and Region Free (both GC and Wii) settings of Starfall as the WiiKey2 has the same settings.
make sure these are not set in starfall. that might be stopping your discs from loading proper.

Thank for all the input everyone. I'll try cleaning the discs and if that doesn't work, reburning them. I've already disabled the starfall settings and it didn't help. I'm currently using Phillips DVD-R for backups. I usually use Ridata, but i've only got DVD+R as of right now. I'll pick up some Verbatim DVD-Rs from Newegg this week and let you all know how it works out. Again thanks for the help and keep on keepin' on!
