No Fusion menu on 4.3u with no soft mods...

I need some assistance. I installed a fusion in a Wii that was at 4.3u without any soft mods or anything else done to it. The Wii will now play burnt discs as long as they are NTSC ( I assume the chip is good). I have yet to see the gamecube icon when a SD card is inserted to the reader. I have not updated the fusion because I can not get to see the menu. The drive disables as it should when an SD card is in place so I assume all connections are good ( I have checked them many times already). I have tried 3 different SD cards (from 2 Gig to 16 Gig) and none work. I have tried 2 CPUs with the 2 versions of WBFS (XP and windows 7). I am running out of ideas and any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks dman

You likely got a D3-2 or new Disc drive in your wii, which by the way BLOCKS YOU FROM USING BURNT DISCS.
Since you didn't take the time to look at the disc drive to determine what version you got, thats your fault.

As for the WBFS, did you even bother to format the SD card.

The Wii DOES play burnt discs. That is not my problem. I have formatted the SD cards with WDFS program and it seems to be working as when I put the SD back in the cpu it is not recognized until I reformat to FAT. Any other suggestions? Thanks

the computer wont read wbfs so if the files dont show its ok. if you format the sd to FAT32, wbfs can still be loaded onto it. try this app for formatting HDD's and sd's:

Then you got a loose ribbon cable. Probably along where the wiikey fusion connects to the disc drive.

I have checked the cables and the fusion is working so I am pretty sure the contacts are good. I was thinking that maybe the connection from the fusion to the SD reader might not be good but the Wii recognizes that an SD is in the reader so the I am guessing that connection is OK as well. The dvd drive disabled when as SD is in the reader as it should so the connection must be there. Or am I off on my assumptions?

Well whatever thing you think your doing correctly is wrong since you not getting the right result.

You catagorically denied nearly everything that could be the cause. your going to have to go back to the beginning again and start over to find what went wrong.

Remove the chip and see if things work as they should....

I took the chip out and the Wii works perfect. Played a game of bowling and it will not read a burnt disc. Now what LOL....

are you still having trouble with the SD now that the chip is out?
