SD card reader Update = FAIL

I followed the softmod guide in this furom, I am now on firmware 4.1 pal wii. The wiikey fusion modchip plays dvd backups ok and stuff but I cant seem to get sd reader working.

So I read around the furoms and noticed that wiigator messes it up. So I followed this guide to remove the cIOSCORP/DARKCORPS from my wii and still could not get the sd reader working. I then notice one of the wads I install in the softmod guide called "cmios-v4_WiiGator_GCBL_v0.2.wad" so I loaded wad manager up and uninstall it but still sd card reader not working.

Also note I am 100% sure that I have formated the sd card to WBFS and I am putting the wiikey fusion 1.5 update on it corectly. So can soemone please tell me how to remove WiiGator properly or what i need to do to get the sd reader working.

sd cards need to be fat32 not wbfs.

I format the sd card to fat 32 I then loaded WBFS manager and press load and it said that the sd card had to be formated to WBFS, to put the wiikey fusion 1.5 iso on it? I then copyed the wiikey fusion 1.5 iso on to the sd card formated to fat32 and try it in the wii anyway and it did not work.

Forget what I said. I should pay attention to the forum the thread is in! I have no clue whatsoever about the wiikey fusion.....sorry.

No solution (I suck with modchips), but by uninstalling your cMIOS, I'm pretty sure you killed GameCube support. Reinstall v10 with DOP-Mii, and good luck with the chip.

Correct, GC is gone.

@OP: Don't just uninstall wads. Had that been a System Menu or IOS60, you would have landed yourself with a full brick. Like BinaryWave said, you need to install MIOS again using Dop-Mii or a wad manager. If you don't have wifi one your Wii to download MIOS, you can download MIOS-64-v10.zip and put it on your SD card.

This is bad, what is it.

At first is says it's a cMIOS, and then it says it's the Gamecube backup launcher 0.2, and it says that all in one title. Do you even know what this wad is, because from the title, I cannot make out what it is?

Regardless of what that wad is, it is not messing with your SD card reader, I have not seen one post here of somebody installing a cMIOS and then losing SD card support. Perhaps your Wiikey fusion is the problem, or you don't know what you are doing, but to blame the cMIOS for your SD card problems is not correct.

Mauifrog chose the title, not the OP. You can get the wad in CIOS-PACK.zip on his softmod guides. :p

That is a bad title for a wad, I'm sure cMIOSv4_wiigator.wad would have been enough to distuinguish it from a MIOS and from Waninkoko cMIOS. Tossing the name of a backup launcher into the title of an cIOS/cMIOS .wad just don't make sense. But then again, perhaps that wad should not be removed from its package.

To the OP, having a cMIOS installed to play backup GC games from hardmod may give you issues, install that wad that joostin linked to you, unless you are going to use a backup laucher for GC games, then you will need the cMIOS.

hardmod = MIOS
softmod = cMIOS

Once you format the SD card to WBFS and install the WiiKey fusion 1.5 ISO on it, that's it, load the SD card with your fusion, do not reformat to FAT32, when you did that you erased the WBFS format and WiiKey fusion 1.5 ISO.

Thanks guys for the help so far, the good news is that I managed to update my Wiikey Fusion by installing MIOS-64-v10. The bad news is that I was only able to load the sd reader up once and that was when I manage to update the wiikey. Now when I put a gamecube backup in my wii it loads it up but when I click on it, I get a black screen of death.

I think the problem is something to do with when I removed the cIOSCORP/DARKCORPS from my wii. I was thinking of reinstalling the ios and CIOS from the softmod guide will this fix the problem?

Note: Wiikey update installed 100% ok, no errors.
