Hi all.
I just installed a new drive premodded with the WiiKey Fusion. Nice install it was too!
I put in an SD card with a good image on it (I'm not new to WBFS Manager or modding etc.m just the WiiKey Fusion). I got the gamecube channel instead of the disc channel but when I clicked it I was prompted to set my region and resolution using buttons (X, Y etc.) that do not exist on a Wiimote. Can someone provide any insight into how one might remedy this?
You need a game cube controller to set the cofigs because the reset button can only go down the list only. After the initial config the GC controller is optional.

Oh well, I think EB Games has them on for $15... off I go!!!

OK I borrrowed a GameCube controller from a guy at work. I get to that loader screen and it still doesn't let me do anything... any suggestions?
I'm going to try updating the firmware to see if that's maybe an issue, but is there anything else I'm missing do you think?
you have to have the gc controller in the wii before you turn it on.

I borrowed a controller, it's actually a straight up Gamecube controller... do they work or does it have to be a newer model that's compatible with Wii?
As a further annoyance, I can't download the latest firmware upgrade because I don't know my serial and as I can't get past this first screen, I can't see my serial in the WiiKey menu... I REALLY don't want to have to take my machine apart...
They are all the same controller, "compatible with wii" is a BS term for repackaged.
I have 4 OG GC controllers and they all work. You can try pulling the power plug on the wii and plug it back in after you connect the GC controller. You will have to use the GC port 1 on the wii, it doesn't work in any other gc port.
GC port 1 is the one closest to the front of the Wii? That's the one it was in and I did end up pulling the power and plugging back in...
I suspected that about the "compatible with wii" thing. It's like telcos saying "compatible with Facebook"!!!

use the dpad to move up and down. moving the analog or moving left and right on the dpad is the same as selecting so be careful. some people like to press buttons when things are loading, don't be one of them.
I dont have a mod chip but while soft modding my wii the only port that recognized the gc controller was port 4.. the last one.
