    Wiikey Fusion installation problem

    Hi,

I have a wii its firmware version is 4.1E.
I just installed the Wiikey Fusion i found it to be pretty simple install.. i had done modding before with my gamecube (ninjamod) and my Xbox (standard) which rquired alot more knowledge so i don't think i am doing any thing wrong in terms of installing the mod chip itself. I had the 4 pins set on the Wiikey for my country which is AUS/NZ, from the diagram i looked at it advised all four pin should bhe in the ON position. I am not sure however what type of drive is in the Wii.

Anyway... after installtion the Wii starts up fine, shows homebrew channel etc.. but its like the DVD is dead. The power cable is definitly connected and the data cable is propery connected. It won't even pull in the games. So i took it apart again and removed all the conections from the Wiikey fusion and made sure everything was corrected, set it back up and same result. I removed the wiikey and put the console back to its normal state. The Wii now works fine drive and all.

The other thing is that when it starts up with the Wiikey installed it will sit there looking happy for a while then it will come up with a black screen with white writing saying the message:

"An error has occurred please press the eject button and remove the disk. turn the wii console off and refer to the manual'"

This message does not show when i remove the wiikey.

Does anyone know what might be the trouble here.

    Thanks for your time.

I'm a complete idiot. I had the host going into the dvd and the dvd going into the host ><

    So yea if anyone getting:

    1. No dvd working
    2. A static sound from the tv
    3. The error: "An error has occurred please press the eject button and remove the disk. turn the console off and refer to the manual'"

Then you are an idiot like me.

Now onto my next problem. It all comes up correctly no more errors, however the Wiikey will not read my original discs.. says does not recognise the disc.

I didnt have time to update the firmware on the modchip so that is my next move when i get home... does anyone know if this will fix the issue... or should it be reading the originals straight after the install.

Thanks and sorry for wasting ya time originally.
