Wiikey Fusion Menu - Unable to Access

Just got my WiiKey Fusion installed in the Wii today. While it is working marvelously in terms of reading and playing my backups, I'm having a problem with the included SD card reader.

I've formatted a 256MB SD card in the Wii File Format. I've loaded on the new FW update and I put it into the slot. The Wii recognizes that there's a card in there and it asks me to launch the GC channel.

Problem is, as soon as I launch it, the system hangs. I don't get to the menu which allows me to select/play/use stuff on that SD card.

The only thing I have on the card is the update in iso format. I don't have any games on there as none would fit (only 256MB card)

My friend tried his SD card, it did the same thing.

Anyone else have any problems and/or any advice?

Also, does anyone know if I can update the mod-chip via DVD? If so, I can live without the SD reading capabilities that came with the mod-chip.

    Thanks in advance...

How are your dip switches set? You have to set the dip switches according to your region.

No idea, a friend did it.

However, it's playing my disc backups no problem - they're all NTSC. It's only getting into the GC Menu with te SD card that's giving me a problem. The system just hangs there...

Switch 1 and 2 are used for region code. Switch 3 and 4 are currently not used but are wired to the chips. You have to have 3 and 4 to the ON position at all time right now, or until they are used for something in a future update.

Some people complained about not being able to update with the switch 3 in the OFF position, that is why the wiikey team released a 1.2 update so soon. You will probably need to open your wii again to check the settings before trying to run the update again.

Not sure why that's happening. If you can't get into the Wiikey settings you will not be able to update at all. Even if you had patched IOS60 to run an update from DVD you still have to be able to access the Wiikey menu to run the update. I would double check the dip switch settings and if that looks good then try the Wiikey on your friends Wii. If it doesn't work on your friend's then send it back for a new one. Good Luck!

insert sd(with update)>power on>click gc screen in disc channel>click start on screen

then PUT DOWN your wiimote and continue by using the reset button on wii front panel
