    SSBB on WKF/Wasp Fusion

Hello there I came across this website earlier, and I tried looking for an answer but I didn't have any luck.

I have a Wasp Fusion (Wiikey Fusion clone) installed in my old Wii and I am able to play most games just fine. However, when I try to play my backup (an iso, not a burnt disc) of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, it loads back up into the wii menu after game selection and I receive the "An error has occurred..." screen. I got the WKF clone because my drive was dying and it is now all the way dead. Is there any way that I can get SSBB to play correctly using my iso?

    Thanks

USB loading still requires a live drive board. If the drive board is dead, you can't USB load. Getting a new Wii for USB loading (or swapping out the board from another Wii) would be your only options that I can think of.

Ah okay. USB loading? I just know its reading from the SD card connected to the fusion. As for the drive, the PCB works just fine, its just that the mechanics have failed. If I needed to have a working drive board inside, wouldn't my wii not be able to run other games (Mario Kart Wii, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Super Smash Brothers Melee)? Everything else works just not something like SSBB (a known problem game from the early days of the Wiikey).

Thanks for the quick reply. Any help is much appreciated

Does your WiiKey have the latest update installed? That particular problem was solved years ago with the release of update v1.9. If you haven't updated your firmware in awhile I would start there.

What do you mean by something like?

3.)This Softmod Guide is compatible with hardmods. If the above doesn't help then this should. (Softmods are just as good if not better.) Please wait for conformation from a Staff Member before doing so. I will not be held responsible for any damages to your console. I am still a little new to the scene! There may be a different problem that I am missing(lack of information) or do not know about.

#1 I am running 1.5 on my WKF clone, the Wasp Fusion. If I remember correctly, wasn't 1.9 for the older Wiikey1 or Wiikey2 chips?

#2 I just meant "every other game I try works fine except for my backup isos of dual layer discs, like SSBB"

#3 Nice guide. Ill look over it when I get some time today, thanks.

And I know that its possible to play SSBB from an iso using a Wiikey Fusion (or clone) but I read that article/post over 2 years ago, and I can't seem to dig anything up like it.

This forums is very helpful and quick to reply

Your first post was auto-moderated. Not sure why since I don't see any links in there, but I approved it and deleted your second one as a dupe, since it looked like there was more information in the first post than the second one.

Okay thanks. I don't see how soft-mods will help me here.. I think it might be because my wii is running 4.3u. Its not really a big deal, I was just hoping to find a way to get my WKF clone to play SSBB from my iso.

If your optics are bad, how are you ripping that game? It's a dual layered game, which presents issues as well.

I purchased one of the few disc drives that can read the games off of ebay a while back. I'm just going to ignore it. I have all my other games that work just fine I just need to get my NFS:Carbon disc to dump correctly and I'll be set. Thanks anyhow guys.
