CIOS 249 Rev 17 to Rev 21 for Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort

    Hi,

Sorry for the questions I just want to check what I have done is ok..

    I have a 4.3E with homebrew and IOS236 v54321.
    I was running CIOS 249 Rev17.

I have just downloaded "d2x v7b1d WAD Pack" and using MultiModManager V13.2 installed only IOS249[56]-v7b1d.wad and IOS250[57]-v7b1d.wad from a wad directory on my sd card.
Is this ok just to install these wads or do I also need to install IOS245[37], IOS246[38], IOS247[53], IOS248[55] and IOS251[58] wads ?

In Homebrew when I press the home button to bring up further menu options. I notice at top right of screen it says 1.07 IOS61 V22.30 - is this ok ?

The whole purpose of updating the CIOS was that I have been trying to get the combined disc version of wii sports+wii sports resort to work on my hard drive. The instructions I have seen only detail for wii sports resort and not the combined original game that I have.

I have extracted the player.dol file from the SP2P01.iso and renamed SP2P01.dol, placing in the root of my sd. Run USB Loader GX and installed the game from my original disc to the harddrive.
    Then used following settings :
IOS222 (Seems that I now have to use IOS222 after my Rev 21 update)
    Error Fix 002 On
    Patch Country Settings On
Alternative DOL : Load from SD
    Block IOS Reload On

Run the game and go through video on wii motion plus. When it completes and select return to game I get a black screen.

So then run the game again with Alternative DOL : Default

Two options come up to either select Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort.
Select Wii Sports Resort and screen just goes black.

All other games run fine and this is really frustrating. I've also tried it with Wiiflow 1.1 and still get the same issues.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Your HBC is out of date and running on the wrong ios. Installing just that one cios is fine but you would really benefit from updating all of them. The softmod any wii guide linked in my signature has a section for people to update their softmods. I think you should do that and then see if your game runs. The updated softmod will give you d2x7 final in the recommended slots and will also update your hbc and make it run on ios58.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Before updating Homebrew should I first install IOS245[37], IOS246[38], IOS247[53], IOS248[55] and IOS251[58] wads with MMM ?

I checked out the link in your signature and as I have a 4.3 wii can I skip the IOS58 and IOS61 wad install and just do the following :

    Backup and Format your sd-card
    Extract
    MMM-58-61.zip to sd:\
Launch Multi-Mod Manager -MMM will load
    -Press 2- load "App Manager"
    -Select hackmii_installer_v0.8 -Press A
    Hackmii Installer Loads

After doing this I would then need latest install for wii flow and usb loader ?

    Thanks

Thanks again the guide is really helpful.

So it sounds like I just need to follow Chapter 1 (
Part 1- Launch Hackmii Installer and Part 2- Install The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii)

    Skip Chapter 2 ?
Then just follow Chapter 3 for the apps ?

Sorry for been so cautious, just don't want to risk bricking my wii as my daughters play it all the time.

You need to follow chapter 2 but don't need the IOS pack. You still need the mod pack and the cios pack. And to install priiloader.

And BTW don't double post, use the edit button if no one has replied yet.

edit - Also any more questions should go in the guide you are following.

Great will follow the complete guide..for information I do have priiloader and wads installed from when I originally hacked my wii over a year ago.
So I will assume following the guide will overwrite with the latest versions.

    no need to assume.

right at the top of the guide it says the following:

Compatible with hardmoded wiis and softmoded wiis. Softmoded wiis, just follow the guide, don't delete anything
edit: ok, now that i posted that I guess that yes you can assume that it will overwrite everything. I just realized that it did not specifically state that
