Girl Needs Help with Playing Gamecube Backups

My boyfriend recently broke up with me and he left his wii. I figured why not install homebrew. The worst that could happen is I destroy the system, right? Lol

So I have neogamma r9 b47 ios249 Rev 21007

I burned a gamecube game on what I thought was a dvd-r, but upon further inspection I realized that what I thought was an incredibly tiny - was really an incredibly tiny +. When I try to launch the game I get the error: DVD error (1208), Disc ID "Do you have a drive connected?."

Also, I wanted to know what you guys think about this damaging the wii's lens. Please tell me what I need to do. I really want to make this work.

DVD Read Error:Bad burn use a better quality disc(Verbatim DVD-R) burn at 2x or 4x using imgburn.Could be a bad iso dump.
