Question Initialize usb device and Stops, Freezes, Nothing for USB Loader GX

Please give me current information for a solution to the problem. I could not find any useful info on this subject speciafically.

So, I softmodded and followed the instructions carefully. I got the Wii modded, the channels installed, games uploaded to USB Loader GX. Played some of them and turned my Wii off.

Next, I go to the USB Loader and start, it begins to run, then freezes, stops at "initialize usb device."

I fiddle with sd card (unplug, replug, plug during...), on/off usb device; and it works again. Now this isn't working anymore!

In sum, I need to fix the USB Loader GX so that once I power on the device and start USB Loader GX, then it should load without fail. Could I get some help?

Info: I used the mauifrog guide and one of the other guides from that guide to mod. Everything was working fine until I powered off. The power up caused some new difficulties.

How is your drive formatted? Did you follow the guide? Is your partition marked primary and active? Is your hard drive on the compatible list? Does this same problem happen with other media (usb stick?)

And (ahem/skel) have you tried any other loaders?

Fat32, Yes I followed the guide. It is marked exactly as the guide said. It is compatible, and not using a USB stick.

I tried Wii Flow, the loading thing bounced back and forth and the Wii was flashing. I assumed not working, shut down.

Like I said, I got the thing to work after the tutorials. No problems except now, the stop at: Loading... "initialize usb device." My work around of restarting Wii, then plug in SD card and then start USB Loader GX is not working anymore.

Try some other device (i.e. find a usb stick & try it). I'm betting something amiss with how you prepped the hard drive.

Why would it work before and now not work?

From what I understand, you had it working *once*. So, please. Just work with me. We can come up with explanations later. For now, try a different drive, or a USB key or something. Follow the fat32 guide in my sig to format it. Make sure primary/active. Then report back.

    I guess I didn't reply before:
I redid the whole process as described http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ide-fat32.html

Connected to Wii and same result. Went to MMM (multi mod manager) and found that the current to be ios58, I reloaded ios249. I went back to Wii menu and USB loader GX works fine. Uploaded game.

So I get it to work, upload a game. Play game. Power off and on. To USB loader... again stops at initialize.

Back to MMM...then to load IOS, shows ios58 again; reload 249, USB loader running again. So I guess the new problem is automatically running ios249 from power up?

I had the same problem, I fixed it by making the partition Active and primary.

Yes, I was very careul to make sure that the partition was primary and "set active." The problem is the ISO. Could it be the SDHC? That is the only thing I disregarded in the instructions, don't have a SD card, only SDHC!

Have you got a sleep mode on your HDD?

You might not know about it - did you get any software with your HDD?
