    Gamecube backup won't work properly

Hi! I was wondering if somebody could help me.

I've been trying to get my backup of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes to work properly.

I burnt it to a DVD-R and loaded it using Neogamma R9. It works perfectly up until the codec call after getting out of the elevator in the beginning. The screen freezes and a message apears on the screen, something about not being able to read the disc and that I should consult the operations manual.

I even tried with Neogamma R8 and wiigator's backup launcher. It keeps doing the same thing.

I doubt it's the game itself as I can get past that part with no problems using the Dolphin Emulator on my PC.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A lot of people seem to have a problem even getting this game to run. But since you have it running, then I would say that your issues are with the brand of the disc you used, some cheap discs will give you read errors, I'm not saying that every disc in the package is bad, but there is a chance that the disc is bad. The only disc I recommend are Tayio Yuden or Verbatim (with the Azo Dye, not the Life Series). Next, maybe you got a bad burn on a good disc, which is sometimes caused by burning the disc to fast, or multi tasking while burning the disc. You may also want to try cleaning your Wii laser lens.

If you are convinced that you have a good working backup, the play around with the setting of NeoGamma, btw, you should be using NeoGamma r9 b56, that is the latest version.

The bad verbatims are on the left, those are made by CMC Magnetics.
The good verbatims are on the right, made by verbatim with the Azo Dye.

I'm using the good discs (same as the ones on the right, but with an orange lable since it's DVD-R)

I let it burn on the slowest speed on imgburn without doing anything else on the pc.

I'm going to play around with the settings first before I burn another disc. Can you reccomend any settings?

    Thank you for your help!

I just burn my at 4x with nero and never seem to have a problem even when making multi GC discs. My first thought here was bad rip but since u have it working on another system then i doubt it. Do u have issues with any other GC discs on your wii? Maybe it is a laser problem, have u tried cleaning the lens?

The only other GC game I have is Super Mario Sunshine, and that works fine....

I burnt a new disc, managed to get through the cutscene and codec call, but a few seconds after that, while im running in the helipad area, it does it again!

    This is so frustrating
