Aha, I see! So is the SD card with the App required to sit in the Wii permanently? The guide I followed didn't mention anything on it, so I did wonder. If so, can I put the game file on the same SD card as the apps with no problem, or does it need a partition or something?

Yes, it's best to have an SD card dedicated to the Wii. And there is no need to partition the SD card.

Does anyone know why that is? Anyway, I agree that an HDD is your best bet.

Not really, I dont believe its really been discussed about "Why" it happens.. we've all just kinda shrugged our shoulders at it.. I would guess that it has to do with the transfer of data between the sd and the wii..

Yeah, I manged to get the USB Loader program working, but it's not picking up any game from the SD. Poo, I worked so hard today to get the Wii softmodded, only to fall at the final hurdle!

So HDD, as in an external hard drive.. can a USB drive work just as well? It's cheaper, lol.

By the way, dniMretsaM.. I like the Doctor Who avatar you have there.

yeah and external USB HDD or a USB flash drive will work too.. but not all are compatible..

In cfg go into the global options by pressing (1) after CFG boots up to get into global options. Set it to load from sd.

Done, it's set to load from SD. Nothing. The game I'm trying to load, incidentally, is New Super Mario Bros. I think it's another trip to the computer shop tomorrow for little me... T_T

Edit: It might be worth mentioning that I'm trying to load it as a WBFS format...

if the sd is formatted to FAT32 that shouldnt be an issue.. but like I said.. some games just wont play from sd no matter what you do.. HDD is the best option by far..

I think I've tried everything now.. it's definitely FAT32 formatted. I think I'll just have to buy a USB stick, haha. Thanks a lot for trying to help, I appreciate it
