Backing up GameCube games to USB Loader?

I was wondering if it was possible to backup GameCube games to my USB loader channel and play it from there.

Would I just treat a GameCube disc just like a Wii disc in the process of backing up the game?

So basically I can't do anything with softmodding in this case?

you can backup your gc games with clean rip, but you can not play them on anything other than a WODE or SunDriver if you are trying to play the iso of the game

You can use Swiss, also. But you'd need an IDE-EXI adapter. Your best bet would be either disks or Swiss + SD Gecko/WiiKey Adapter + 32GB SDHC card.

    Alright thanks.
I hope USB loader will support GC backups in the future.

That won't be possible. The USB ports are innactive when the Wii is in GameCube mode, thus you can't run GC backups from an HDD wthout hardmodding (WODE or SunDriver) or a IDE-EXI adapter (IDE hard drive to GC memory card slot).

i don't understand why I can't view that thread, or why my post asking what its says didn't show up, but i did more searching and reading, and found that DML can play GC games on the SD card. Trying to get this working now. Its not ideal as only one game will fit on my 2gb sd, but since my wii is too new to read dvd-r its good news for me.

Edit: I was able to get Zelda Wind Waker to run this way, it locked up once in the first dungeon when I was switching floors on the map. But i think I read this is a known issue. So it work but may have some glitches.
Edit 2: I was using an old version DML. latest has no issue with the map in TLZ:WW
