How to power down to ready state?

Hello. I used the guide 'Mod Any Wii". Before, my Wii would power down to a ready state (yellow power LED) where it would leave power on the USB port to keep my USB drive powered. Now it powers down all the way (red power LED) and no power for the USB drive. Is there any way to make it power to the ready state so I can leave my hard drive powered? Thanks

Go to Wii Options -> Wii Settings page 2 -> WiiConnect24 -> Standby Connection -> On -> Confirm.

Oh. Thanks. I actually turned that off because I thought I saw in the posts that it wasn't good to have WiiConnect24 on with a modded Wii. Is this true?

Nintendo could theoretically update your Wii, but that is highly unlikely. And if you have Priiloader installed and it's configured to block online updates, you have nothing to worry about.

Ok thank you. I have Priiloader installed and it is configured to block online updates. Thanks again.
