It is safest to not remove any IOSes unless directed by a moderator. Especially the lower ones as that is pretty much a guaranteed brick. Looks to me that you followed the d2x cIOS guide and not the Softmod any Wii guide? Did you take a NAND backup? did you disable the system menu updates in priiloader?

Don't uninstall the SM or the SM IOS or you'll brick. You're fine removing stubs if you want -theyre only stubs. However there's not really a need to unless you need an extra block of space. And I'd recommend deleting your config files for USB loader gx, and then loading it again.
1 - make sure you have your hard drive in the proper port (bottom port if your wii is horizontal)
2 - try again, what does it display?

edit - oh what version of 2.3 did you download? 222, 249, 250 etc

I didn't read this whole thread but did see the last one.

NEVER REMOVE AN IOS BELOW 200!!!

    I repeat

NEVER REMOVE AN IOS BELOW 200!!!

There really is no reason to delete any IOS. Installing a later revision will just overwrite the old one.

Now after looking at that system check, I would recommend following the softmod any wii guide. And just leave the stubs alone, their not hurting anyone.

You should really listen to the moderator and followed the Softmod Any Wii guide.

Following the guide will get ALL of your IOS's up to date and give you the maximum chance for success. Basically if you follow the guide through the end, then follow the fat32 guide you should be set. Also as I said, check against the USB compatibility list for your drive.

I don't mean to be rude but you are not helping yourself so far. You seem to be only reading half of what people suggest and forgetting the rest. Especially when a moderator tries to help, i suggest you take your time and follow through with their suggestions. Shano is being very generous in trying to pinpoint your problem, but the fact is that its is very hard considering all of the instructions you get are half followed, and even if you do manage to get it working, your wii is not properly protected.

If you want your wii to work awesome like mine does. Follow the softmod any wii guide and then setup your usb drive with the fat32 guide. Both links are in the spoiler below.
