    Wii Slow Performance

    Hey.
This isn't a really hack related question but about a year ago, my Wii used to run at a pretty good speed when selecting and loading channels. Before I hacked my Wii, it started to go slow. For example, I would press start on a channel but the cursor would still show. 8 seconds later the cursor would disappear and the channel would load. I researched this and it seems to me that version 4.1 and up is the cause of this. Is there anyway I can make it go faster again?
    Thanks.

Nope. I still have about 900 blocks left and when it started to slow down it had probably more. I've looked it up more and it seems other people have also had this problem and they think that version 4.2 is the cause of it.

I'm on 4.3 and I was more wondering if there was some kind of cleaning process you could do to the Wii to make it faster. I've read that it's very unhealthy for your Wii to downgrade. Is that true?
Also when I installed the Homebrew channel I didn't install IOS 58 because it was already on 4.3. If I did downgrade, would it have an effect?

Having things run on an incorrect cIOS could slow things down.. its making more sense now.. lol

Downgrading is dangerous if done incorrectly.

Follow the any wii guide in my sig.. It will give you all the IOS and cIOS that you need and put you on 4.1(safely if you follow directions)

Come to think of it, I installed the Homebrew channel at some point when I had version 4.1 or 4.2 but I removed it because I thought it was useless. Could that have had an effect?
Also I'm new to this and don't understand the whole concept of cIOS and not much of IOS.

Is there anyway I can install the correct cIOS on my 4.3 Wii rather than downgrading to fix it? By the way, are there any better benefits being on Wii 4.1 rather than 4.3?

Using the term "downgrading" implies that the newer release added something of value. 4.2 and 4.3 were created to defeat homebrew. But to answer your question more directly, if you choose to stay on 4.3, you can follow the entire guide and skip the system menu installation step. But do the rest of it.
