    Nand verify fails???

    Hello all,

Firstly happy new year to all, Secondly, apologies in advance if this is a repeat of an issue already covered, now sadly as a Noob I need a bit of advice from someone with more knowledge than me, here's my stumbling block...

I have a Wii which seems to have the more current bug fix for BootMii "The installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install" I installed BootMii as an IOS got the Success, I can launch BootMii from the HBC, I create my Nand backup I have a few bad sectors, when it runs the verification of the Nand backup it says
    "Verify failed for 2 blocks"

I have tried multiple times to create a successful backup of my Nand so I can continue with softmodding following the "softmod ANY wii" guide on here

I have read through numerous posts on numerous sites regarding my backup issue but am finding contradictive responses, some say "don't go any further until you have a successful backup" others say "you'll be fine as long as you have a Nand.Bin on the SD card"

on the root of my SD I have my Nand.Bin, Keys.Bin and BootMii folder etc...

Can anyone tell me what my options are please, I have only installed HBC and BootMii as an IOS, I have not gone any further with soft modding, my Wii is the black version, purchased December 2010, running system 4.3E..

I have soft modded older versions, without the BootMii bug fix, I have always created successful Nand backups, this is the first time I have had a backup fail the verifying process.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read through my plea.

I've never had it do that before. Usually always verifies fine. I would try and format the SD card again with the quick box unchecked, then put the bootmii folder back on it and try again. Make sure the card is 1gb - 2gb non sdhc.

Posted using fireFox on my HTC EVO 3d, so please excuse typos.

I did the softmod on my Wii last wednesday and the NAND had 2 bad factory blocks, the verify failed on those 2 bad blocks. I did a second backup and it did the same, so i assumed it was normal (since they are bad blocks...)
Should i do it again with another SD card??
(JR1973 - Sorry to use your thread, but since it is about the same thing, it seemed pointless to start a new one).

Bad blocks are normal. When bootmii does the verify the blocks turn green. It will report u had bad blocks but if they all turn green after the verify, then it is all good.
